The Last Few Lines On The First Page Were All That Mattered

  you would like to admit
that you would like to imagine
when she closes her eyes
you're what her darkness drags in
you would like to believe
the world is yours just this once
if you could keep your eyes dry
through early summer months
you find it much harder to sing
than drown when the sky's blue
when that which steals your breath
can still breath without you
