The Lamb Inside Poem by derrick foster

The Lamb Inside

He silently came on the scene
They saw him before they heard him
He hoped they would go with that
He was full of surprises
Though built like a truck inside the trunk was gentle soul
He didn't like to throw his weight around but he would
There was beauty that resonated from within
Most assumed he played sports
But little did they know there was more to the man
Yes, he appeared physically ample but also cerebrally solid
His mind blossomed with flight of fancy and fabulous facts
But they only saw him until he opened his mouth
And the man inside shone through
Inside that sturdy body was a wonderful lamb
With a large compassionate heart ready to serve
