The Kiss Poem by Della Perry

The Kiss

Adonis stood, a heroic angel of passion
Masculine and taut
Strength of a thousand thoughts, memories
Knowing smile, melting every woman's heart
He stood before her
Cupped cheeks in huge warm hands
Eyes the hue of slate locked with hers
She felt light-headed, dizzy
Heartbeat raced
He lowered an unshaven chin to hers
'Red lipstick today,
Shall we kiss? '

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It was Red Nose Day 2015. My friends wore red lipstick for work. We thought it was funny to pretend to kiss. I wrote this on returning home.
