The King Of Hearts

God should be the King of all hearts

He is I whispered to the blank skies

He is the skies soft pale thundered back

but we thought something else, we lack

there is, a something

someone else in the garden

we went away we lost our minds

we came up empty every time

God should be the king of hearts He was

i mourned to the empty days

he was i cried through the choking haze

He is I whispered to the world at large

the only one the only one

the only one can be relied on

without Him we are torn apart

without him we are forced to dig

our own graves thinking that we live

or else to live with knaves

we are I whispered to the endless dark

God is the King the king of hearts

He is

I sobbed into the day of what's to come.

He is. much more

than the fizzing fireworks popcorn shows

He is cried the sea to all the shores

and all the children in their sleep.
