The Island Poem by Liam ó Comáin

The Island

grey course
to a sparse
solitude

derelicts
smelling
of turf

people
dispersed
to the four
winds

salty
breeze
with fowl
and spittle
of rain

wave
after
wave...

cloud
in still motion
