The Illusion Of Freedom Poem by Daya Nandan

The Illusion Of Freedom

The illusion of freedom is the lie we live,
The lie we are taught, the lie they give.
Deceived by them, we are no more than slaves,
Trusting their lies, we are digging our own graves,

What happened to freedom and all our rights?
Why is there so much corruption and so many fights?
Why all the racism? , Why must our people be in pain?
Why must they be soaked in the freezing cold rain?

Time to rise up, we don’t deserve to be treated this way,
What use is our mind if we can’t use our voices to say,
That we have had enough, we want no torture,
We deserve fair chances, we too have a future,

It’s time to wake up, open our eyes and see,
That we must fight for ourselves, we must break free,
From the manipulation, from all the lies and chains,
We must change our predicted future before it rains,

We are not puppets where they pull the strings,
No, we are not servants while they pretend to be kinds,
We must rise and fight with all our courage for the key,
The key of freedom, we must fight for our liberty!
