The Ignoramus Poem by Matthew Holloway

The Ignoramus

The ignoramus, the politician
The journalist and critic
The social media keyboard warrior
Serving only their vile selves
For profit and attention
For shock and awe
All the look at me, look at me
See how much I care and do
Good souls never seek applause
Never seek reward and attention
Swipe left or right, accept cookies
Art slowly dies beneath it all
Yet glory its sought and found
In the ignoramus and their way
The modern world online always
Fears true art and creation
To be honest in the face of it all
Who really wants originality
When the familiar and accepted
Are already well presented
