The Hellfire Club Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Hellfire Club

Rating: 5.0

Medmenham Abbey housed orgies
Enjoyed by politicians and aristocrats

Built on the site of an early Cistercian abbey
a plaque above the building said 'do what you will'

Sir Francis Dashwood, the Earl of Sandwich et al
Dressed prostitutes as nuns to fuel their fantasies

Little changes. Politician, aristocrats
Continue to wield power and blot their jotters
Profumo, Clinton, Kennedy. Cyril Smith

Nothing changes. An even bigger disgrace is the persistence of cover ups. An important point well made, Sheena.

This is an excellent poem brilliantly penned on political issues. This is highly perceptional in expression.10
