The Heart Of It Poem by Adebayo Tajudeen

The Heart Of It

What taste is of a lump of flesh?
Bitter than the green of bile yet
Sweeter than the brown of honey;
tinnier of an atom yet
mightier than the colour of character.

Let untamed snowballs to repulsive manner
tendered consciously to bolt amiable persona
At the heart of the hat is hollow
deep to keep foes and friends fraternized!

Tame a beast with a straw
tender it with hay;
tame the heart with consequence
tender it with conscience.

The heart, centre of guilt,
the heart, centre of gallant.
Victor or villain!
the hearth, the centre of it all.
