The Heart And The Mind
Who has probed the heart
To discern its inclinations
To appraise its rationale
For its likes and dislikes
Its basis for love’s choices?
Who commanded his mind
To decree against his heart
To force its hand to love
Against its inclinations
Or to choose contrarily?
Ah, but if the heart is right
Its proclivity will be aright
And heart and mind united
Will dance harmoniously
Their common love in truth
