The Girl, The Rain Poem by emogirlnadia hathway

The Girl, The Rain

Girl,
girl in the corner
by that window,
watched as the sky cried
listening,
drip... drip... drip...
the rain joined in with her,
her sorrow.

she sits,
in her own cold loneliness
as her heart slowly,
painfully,
cracked and snapped
as the cold devoured
the pieces.

she wraps.
wraps her arms
around her numb body,
singing herself to sleep
with the rain as her beat,
surrounded by promises
that no one seems to keep.
