The Girl Poem by Starrbox Munoz

The Girl

Rating: 5.0

She crys till her eyes are burning red
She cuts till shes numb with pain
She writes till her scarred slit wrist hands cramp up
She reads gobbling every last word on the pages of her favorite tattered book
She fills the piercing silent void with blasting roaring music

Its the black iPod with matching black skull earphones that keeps her sane from leaping off the ledge of her bedroom onto the oblivion of traffic down below

She listens in a zombie like trance to every mesmerizing lyric
Its the savage drums that beat like her aching heart
Its the screeching guitars that call her name
Its the violent vocal shrieks that serenade her to sleep only to dream of the life she hasn't acquired
Its in her loneliness that she feels the most alive
