The Footy Fans Poem by Francis Duggan

The Footy Fans

The footy fans are sometimes in the local pub
And if not are drinking in the bar of the football club
And their favourite topic you guessed it football
And their club to them is the greatest of all
As important to them as their children or wives
Football does play a huge part in their lives
Proud of their club and loyal to their colours they stay
Go to cheer them on at home or away
So many like them in every town
When their team is beaten they look sad and feel down
But by midweek they are talking of the weekend game
Every weekend with them it is the same
Smiling when winning and in defeat sad
Football like life has it's good and it's bad.
