The Ebony Shore Poem by C.F. Wilkins

The Ebony Shore

Many walk on the sand
In the cold, black, dark night.
Hoping for the light of day
Which brings golden light.

They seek the pearl that Wisdom said
Shines above the rest...
Washed upon the ebony shore
Where life is put to test.

They walk upon the ebony shore
Seeking the treasure lost.
But dark of night hides the pearl
And the value of its cost.

Unseen foes are lurking there
And there they work and play.
They plot and plan to render harm
To all who go that way.

But, heroes too walk the shore
Helping seekers lest they fall.
One Hero stands above the rest,
That Hero stands over all.

The ebony shore can't claim the treasure
And keep it hidden from view.
For day will come when darkness flees
And bright will be its hue.

The Hero upon this ebony shore
Where life is put to test
Owns the pearl of great price
That shines above the rest.
