The Devil's Voice Poem by Martin Greyford

The Devil's Voice

Rating: 5.0

"Eve, is it true that
God forbid you to eat
From the tree in the midst of the garden?

If it's true,
Then He has lied and deceived you.
He knows that you would become like Him.

It's a good fruit.
Can't you see?
Open your eyes wide open

And see it's golden colour.
That it's perfect and ripe for food.
Your God didn't want you to be like Him

Just take it and become a god
Don't be afraid or scared.
Grab it and be like Him.

For you will know
What's good and bad today.
Feel free to eat of any tree you like,

Without restrictions.
He placed you into this garden
To enjoy everything that's in it.

You will become the wisest
Of all the creatures He has created
And that makes you a god.

Eat and take some to your husband
You will be like Him
That's the reason He has forbidden you.

See, I'm telling you this
Because I care for your well-being
Everything will be yours."
