The Day I Met God Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Day I Met God

It was not an extraordinary day
I was not doing anything unusual
The time was not frozen still
Only the substance of my being was awakened
And God was already inside every fibre of my existence
I met God through the cord of awareness
I did not see Him with my eyes
I felt every inch of His presence
I was like a flickering light
And He was the flame of my existence
I could not believe my heart
When I was told it was Him
I was lost for words
I could not utter a sound
Silence was my house
And God was inside my home
