The Creative Spirit Poem by Sandra Feldman

The Creative Spirit

Rating: 4.8

The Creative Spirit lives,
As time passes, more it gives,
To our spirit and our lives,
Truly, keeping us alive,
What would this unjust world be,
Without Art and Poesy,
Just an empty shell, Alas!
Life would be such an Impasse,
Only Art does make us wise,
Only Art is man's best prize
Reaching always for the skies,
From the lowly Hut we spring,
Art makes man a special king.

Since I was very young, I stood in awe of great and not so great artistic Creation. For me, Art is the spiritual part of man, that differentiates him from all else and quenches his thirst for immortality. All my life I have wanted to express this, I hope my poem The Creative Spirit achieves my wish.
