The house up the hill looms
And you must ascend the stairs
The hill is high, the stairs long
The climb tiring and torturous
He must ascend, he who craves
The comfort within its dwelling
And while the wind beats hard
And the stairs rough and tough
The Lord God walks besides you
Grants the courage to persevere
The strength to brave the storms
The resolve to thrive in hardship
And though the climb is arduous
The Lord God helps you upward
With rejoicing even in difficulty
And quietude amidst the storm
These daily gifts to His Children
The presence of the Lord grants
To keep you sure-footed and bold
