The City Eternal Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

The City Eternal

Rating: 5.0

Eternal shall this land be free, from strife, and war to ever be..
A land where each one's hand shall grasp, the Moslem,
Christian, Jew hold fast.. United Nations hold real tight,
to see and do, for all thats right.. Eternal City, shall we say,
for all to see a brighter day.. In Middle East we ask for peace,
and in this way shall bring release.. Too many delve in hate
and shake their fist, this is the way we can't exist..
Not shake the fist; should extend the hand, to make all people
understand.. There is no war thats ever won, no problems
solved, it's never done.. Take heed, the World, for all's at stake,
forever always make mistake.. From far in past should learn
to live, and to all peoples compassion give.. To ages dark we
shall return, then once again the Universe churn..
Why can't it be, we're all the same, each Nation, Race, just
fixed in name.. All blood runs red for all to see, from shore to
shore, from sea to sea.. There is no boundary in this life, so
why the hate, the fear, the strife.. To love a life, a life to love,
it's what's been chosen from above.. This be the answer,
choice we choose.. If not be so, we're all to lose..
This is the way most World does feel, not from each people
rob and steal.. This is the way the World must face.
Or down we go, each Nation, Race..
