The Church That Is Babylon

Life’s true values of long ago
Written by God’s own hand
Man treats truth, like yesteryear’s snow
Like drifting worthless sand

Rejecting life’s rules to live by
Obedience to thrive
Through faith, God’s grace to rise on high
Always to stay alive

Yet shadows, obtain body forms
Deceived, deceit to preach
Trivialising life’s frightening storms
The Word of God would reach

Some, professing they’ve second birth
Churches will everyone please
Till deceit’s flooding the whole earth
To governments, bend their knees

Politics, is ringing door bells
Babylon’s at the door
While the west’s worshiping oil wells
Begging fanatics for more

There’s but one God, one God alone
For Christians and for Jews
One Way, one Truth, one living Stone
One Spirit with good news

Denying facts, since life began
Of truth’s imminent drought
Such famine, yet unknown to man
Causing worldwide doubt

So who’ll cast hell’s shadows aside?
Deceit’s velvet curtain!
Through Jesus turn Babylon’s tide
And make life’s election certain.....
