you ask why I left
well here is the cause
who you have become
to me is just a fraud

I guess I was in love
with who you were before
now that person's dead and gone
you're not here anymore

I think you're understanding
I think you feel the change
where we were connected
to each other now we're strange

I've changed too, but
I have changed for good
I'll go find a love
who will lift this weary mood

don't worry, I don't hate you
I just wish you'd let me go
