The Candle Of Life Poem by Nadia Baazioui

The Candle Of Life

There must come one day
When all clouds will clear away
And migrant birds will find their way
After a long time of being astray.
This is what she used to say
In an attempt to wipe my tears away

She never overlook a smallest deed
And heartedly helps the poor and those in need
I listened to her whispers in a vacant mood
As if i, in other world, stood
A simple but a wonderful woman she was
And to my heart she was so close
So clear and sincere was her heart in deep
As she always likes her pomises to keep.

I still remember how great she was
When she, in her simple way,
with noble shyness celebrates my birth day
A piece of cake is enough
Along with a tender hug and a laugh
Suddenly the wind blew out my heart's candle
And i was left in the dark once again
But this time there is no one to alleviate my pain
I tried to find her face high in the sky near the clouds
To see the colorless rainbow
And life's signs shadow
Even the birds sang in sorrow
On me she never lied
Though sometimes not to hurt me prefers the truth to hide
One has to keep his word as she used to say
And sure on me she did not lie
But this time the fate has given her away,
Because she did not meant to leave me astray
In this strange world when she passed away.
