The Call Poem by Anne Onymous

The Call

Rating: 5.0

He saw your words
And tried to call
I couldn't speak to him
He'll say 'I'm flattered'
Or something same
And 'lets just stay good friends'

And with those words my heart will die
My soul will cease to be
And I'll reply 'of course, thats fine! '
'Whatever you want from me'

For knowing him, being in my life
Although without his love
Is surely a sign
That hope exists
That cliched white soaring dove

It won't, of course
I will be brave
And ho! I hear you say
'Tell this to him'
'And not to us'
'Wasting your life away'

But put yourself into my shoes
And ask yourself this thing
Would you keep heart and hope alive?
Or answer on first ring?
