The Big Change Poem by Anne Marie

The Big Change

There once was a time when animals roamed,
As free as the birds, the trees were their homes,

The sun would rise high and shine on free land,
The flowers would grow, no sight of a hand,

Then came us humans, evolved from the chimps,
Came out of the sky, turned love into pimps,

We caged up the freedom, birds and the mice,
Us fully clothed humans are evil, not nice,

Gods animals trapped, are no longer free,
Their tongues cannot taste and their eyes cannot see,

The blame is on humans, alone in our loo’s,
Reading sex books, badly singing the blues,

The world is now buildings, no longer wild fields,
Were animals hunt for their favorite meals,

A beautiful world of trees, grass and hills,
Turned into a place, polluted with bills,

people make rules and break them with drugs,
No free spirit here just professional thugs.
