The Best Song Poem by Vidur Mohta

The Best Song

He wrote the lyrics,
Bright and full of elation,
I wondered whence came they?
I enjoy the rhyme,
Thumping with definition,
Catchy and enlivened,
As an oyster holding pearls,
Luster, Shining brilliant,
Vivid with gumption,
Every word creating sweet melody,
Like the waves of an ocean,
Hoping to find its way to a lover's heart?
Will it, sung by a bard?

I set each syllable to music,
Composing a symphony,
Vibrant like colors of a rainbow,
Oh, did I miss something!
Those words too loud for human hearing,
Where is the singer's location?
Who is going to sing this creation?
The lyrics are too good,
And the rhythm flawless,
Forcing your legs to tap,
Setting ones thought racing,
Someone should perform this song,
Mustering the softest voice they can,
Like the murmur of a heartbeat,
Pitch perfect, like Beethoven.

Though I am aware,
That the best song has not yet been sung.
