The Bells Poem by Majid Alhydar

The Bells

Ding.. dang..
Ding.. dang..
….
My legs are letting me down.
My hands are letting me down.
A while before..
My chest,
My breaths,
My tongue,
And my heart,
Have, all, just let me down.
To this I fall back, murmuring:
No shame on a sick man!
….
I open the window:
The wind carries a sole hymn
Coming from the distance,
From a million terrified chests,
Like the ringing of bells:
Ding.. dang..
Ding.. dang..
No shame on a sick man
No shame on a sick man
No shame..!
