The Bad Thing Poem by Rachael LoudFingers

The Bad Thing

Mind closed, collapsed
Breath shortens
A violent gasp
To find a safe space
I curl in a ball
Rocking Back and forth
Lifting my head

Rocking back and forth
I feel the walls closing in
on my happiness
Everything is angry
People talking
All I hear is my heart
Beating Frantically
Eyes roll back
Into my thoughts
Hands touching me
I beg them to leave
The mind convinces me
Nothing is good
Tasting the salty wetness
I take deep breathes

In and out
In and out

Heart calms and the walls
Still again
Wiping my damp face
I rise with caution
In hope
The bad thing
Won't return.

I particularly like this one. I like the style in which it's written. And I like how you say salty wetness instead of tears... so much more creative. I think I told you that before when you read it to me. By the way, you wrote 'all I heart is my heart' instead of 'all I hear is my heart.' Just letting you know!
