The Arrival Of The Lover..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

waiting by the window
that overlooks a road
from the mountain, the
eyes are sharp and scrutinizing
about someone who promised
to come before the sun
completely undresses herself
to the freshness of the world.

and then the lover arrives
beginning to take its shape
in the foggy morning and the
tress swayed and the river sings,
and the stairs dance and the door
invented arms ready for the
passionate embrace and the
much awaited kiss.
