The American Dream Poem by Marcus McKinley

The American Dream

This just dawned on me!

The spending habits of Americans
Directly relates to the spending habits of its government
Over extended, buying things at high mark ups
Funneling money to groups that produce nothing in return
Waiting for someone else to balance the checkbook
Who is the real crook?
Is it the consumer who spends and can’t pay his bill
Or the agenda politicians on capitol hill
Or the high interest rates based on your credit score
and your inability to pay

who is to say?

Anyway,
We all take advantage of this broken system
Including other countries as we assist them
I guess America is like one big credit card for the world
Make your withdrawls until your pockets are filled
Then take a little more from the working poor
If America actually collected on its bills
From all the foreign countries it tills
This MULTI TRILLION dollar deficit would soon become nil

Then we would have lower taxes
And could afford to live the American dream
Our youth would not have to suffer from A.D.D.
Better known as Attention Deficit Disorder
Which seems to be our national affliction
In all areas of government position

Is this the American dream?
Or another Tea Party in the making…
