The Amazon Forest Is On Fire Poem by Daya Nandan

The Amazon Forest Is On Fire

Rating: 5.0

Thousands of fiery infernos rage across the land,
Because of the greed that selfish fools demand,
The lungs of our planet has been set ablaze,
Leaving death, destruction and a nasty haze,

A layer of smoke estimated to be 1.2 million square miles wide,
Has formed from the flames that released so much carbon dioxide,
There is so much smoke that it can be seen from space,
Another problem for the environment that earth has to face,

Because of people clearing out the land for ranching and farming,
We now face a problem that is truly alarming,
Humanities race for profit and all of our greed,
Is killing of the vital gifts that we truly need,

More than 20% of the world's oxygen is produced there,
How can they be so careless and unaware,
The politicians involved should start taking action,
To stop the illegal activities that is causing this reaction,

So many animals have been charred because of the flames,
Undiscovered flora and fauna dying before we gave them names,
We have to collectively make an effort before it is too late,
Before the future generations suffer a horrible fate!
