one day i was surprised
you had given me a gift
it wasn't wrapped in paper
but it gave me such a lift

I woke up and it was there
swathed in red lace
I remembered where I saw it
it brought smile to my face

It wasn't book to read
or pin to put in my hair
it wasn't a card or candy
in fact I can't hold it anywhere

The gift was your heart
it was definately the best choice
I can feel it beating next to mine
I'm glad you've given it a voice

You show me how you feel
You never say the words
but like a beautiful lullaby
or the singing of a bird

you wrapped it around me
it keeps me warm at night
I know it will never leave me
it's warmer than the brightest light

I feel it when we sleep
cheek to cheek, head to head
holding each others arms
joined together in our bed

I just want to thank you
for all that you do for me
and I want you to know
I love you for all you'll ever be
