Children are like flowers they need sunshine everyday
They need love and understanding in a very special way
Children are no fools you see, they just don't understand
All they really need is for us to lend a helping hand
Children make life a joy they are simply story books
They are innocent and mysterious with their funny, witty looks
Remember when you were a child, when life seemed so brand new
Just search inside you'd sure to find a fond memory or two
Children are the gift of love they make the world go around
Amazingly in every heart a child can still be found
Children are always and forever throughout eternity
Children always have been and thank God always will be
Of all the things I may forget when I am old and gray
May the precious memories of my childhood, never fade away
