Terror's Cloud Poem by Barry Middleton

Terror's Cloud

Rating: 5.0

the cloud has covered up the blue
the gray has banished all our hope
and everything we thought we knew
to rob from us the will to cope

the breeze is whispering beware
so toxic is this mist and smoke
that every breath must bring despair
from horrors that our fears evoke

within that cloud a demon hides
and spreads across the fragile earth
to block the sun where light abides
with our frail legacy of birth

so we must meet the haze of death
and make this pledge beyond despair
to banish terror from the earth
and grant the innocent their prayer

Terror's cloud hovering over the world is a cause of real concern for mankind. A heart-touching tribute to innocent people who lost their lives. Beautiful metaphoric write. A10

Thanks Nosheen. It is so sad that terrorism will probably continue for some time to come. In the month or so since I wrote this there have been several terror incidents around the world. Tears become exhausted.

Heartfelt and humble. This is an acceptance of the grave danger posed by terrorism and there is also a commitment for its cessation once and for all. Our hearts are with the bereaved families. and make this pledge beyond despair to banish terror from the earth

I fear that it is like banishing evil from the heart of mankind. Perhaps impossible.
