Ten Years Back Poem by Rose Kanana

Ten Years Back

Rating: 4.8

A day like today
Ten years back
I look back with a lot of nostalgia
And mixed feelings
I landed to a new home
Cidade de Maputo
I had hugged my loved ones goodbye
Some that I never got to say real goodbyes
Never met again in my homeland
I made new friends in another homeland
I met real humanitarian workers
Who gave their all as workers

But today I am not happy
To learn that political upheavals
Have erupted in my once upon a time home
I loved the Country i called home
I can only wish them the best
For Humanitarian workers ears
Are always on ground
Hoping for the best
But planning for the worst
God bless Mozambique
