Tell Me Poem by Candace Johnson

Tell Me

Born of beauty
maiden fair
give me a lock of your hair.

Born of nobility
handsome pair
give me a noble mare.

Born of trade
merchant there
give me some of your ware.

Born of sails
sailor’s despair
give me a sail without a tear.

Some beauty,
some nobility,
some merchant,
some sailor,
tell me of the world.
