Teach Us Lord Poem by Donna McCord

Teach Us Lord

Teach us, Lord, how to walk in Your Grace
And teach us to be humble with each day we face
Let us treat one another with the same care You do
And not share a cross word when we feel we want to.

Teach us, Lord to stand firm in our faith
And to avoid temptation when it comes our way
Let us not envy or covet the things of another
And teach us ways that we can help each other.

Teach us Lord, how to love the earth
And teach us how we can measure its worth
Let us not waste resources that You’ve put in our trust
And treasure the beauty You’ve bestowed upon us.

Teach us, Lord how to control our anger
And avoid confrontation and stay out of danger
Let us find pleasure in the simple things in our life
And learn how to avoid prisons of our own device.

Teach us, Lord how to be more like You
And teach us to pray about all things we do
Let us find the right path to salvation and mercy
And to drink from your cup when we find we are thirsty.
