(tanka-4) Inertia, Mine Poem by Bill Galvin

(tanka-4) Inertia, Mine

At rest… stay at rest;
Objects moving… stay moving,
Till acted upon -
Newton's First Law of Motion,
Regulating me these days.

I like road-tripping,
But I like staying put, too.
When settled, I set;
Once I get going, I move,
Never expecting to stop.

When home… I like home;
Local music talent sweet;
Rockbound coast nearby;
Walking sand beaches, wild woods,
And, near enough the mountains.

Till I get my fill…
And miss the road-rhythm drone.
Ulysses' Sirens,
Calling me close, to listen,
And to see more than before.

A wonderful series of Tanka, Bill. Inertia rules my life now too, mostly the stuck behind the keyboard kind : -)
