Talking Time Lapse Poem by Vincent Cibelli

Talking Time Lapse

I saw that, and heard it with my own two ears
Suprise attack in the middle of the night
The treaties and cease-fires
Fallacies and compromises, moving the ball forward
Inch by inch, yard by yard
To what final goal, ultimate end
Fates hold that crystal balll view
Imaginary fortune tellers prying
Will the tarot appear in my dreams?
The past comes exploding through the brain
Conversations as your mad, insane
The text, context, suffixed, prefixed
Instant information and nostalgia
Proclamations of ended love
And questionable legal affairs
Abortioned thought and promises
Fade into the amnesiac mind
And mother praises
Watch the clock tick and the momets sick
Fall in piles of the undead
And the words read shall read
Do not heed these words or those
Heed your personal blessing or curse
And watch the meat, ground,
Pour mashed from the grinder
