Taking Steps Poem by Frederick Nellist

Taking Steps

Rating: 4.0

I tread in places not stood before
More steps yet to climb
Much waits for me to explore
One thing at a time.

My journey won't demise unknown
My footprints are deep
I will never walk alone
A faith I always will keep.

My ultimate goal is to find me
I am not unique
None so blind as refusing to see
or the right words to speak.

I've encountered Satan's many faces
Learning not yet done
Battles with him in many places
Some lost, some won.

Every place a challenge to me
My home is not forsaken
I'll return one day to Innisfree
Retracing the steps I've taken.
