Sweet Jesus Poem by Mishack Mchunu

Sweet Jesus

I love you, my lava and my sun shine
You are hot! For you I toil, you are sweet as I sweat.
Under your shadow; my tree of life, my shrine
Along the cherubs I sing like the seraphim under your treat
My abode, your body my redemption; though as my sins
Pierced through you; you screamed no condemnation
But grew my pleasures as your blood flux down to and from your legs
Watering my dry soul with apparitional mutation
But you adore me more, from the multitudes of birth
To the limits of death, I sigh and hold my breath
To myself I die and abundantly live and lie in your arms
Gospels whistles to my ears I hear no alarms
Oh Sweet Jesus, I dream of me without you
But I only see ashes; I cry indry lands and the sky is not blue!
