Surgery Pending Poem by Ray Hansell

Surgery Pending

Your heart is feeling heavy
As your eyes release their tears
As far as you can see
Nothing is really clear

So many answers you can't find
No matter how hard you look
The answers that you need
Can't be found inside a book

Your mind races at a constant pace
It never seems to slow down
You try your very hardest
Not to walk around with a frown

As the time gets closer
Your mind drifts further away
Many people try to help
But it doesn't what they have to say

It's easy for others to say
Things will turn out alright
But they are no the one's
Losing sleep every night

I know that I've been one of them
But I don't klnow what else to say
I only want the best for you
As you struggle through each day

ButI want you to know
I will be praying for you
Holding you in my arms again
Is the only thing I want to do
