Sunlight In The Storm Poem by Bree Swart

Sunlight In The Storm

Let's take a walk,
A walk through my past,
Just listen while I talk,
And you'll know why I didn't last.

Words mean so much,
Yet we take them for granted,
Even more than a single touch,
But we can't take back the seeds we planted.

Not everything will be butterflies and rainbows forever,
So we have to cherish our time here,
But not me, i'm more 'clever',
All I do is shed tears.

I dread on the past, when i should look to the future,
My fate is becoming clearer,
As I experience great torture,
And my life is becoming dearer.
