Summer Glory Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Summer Glory

On this beautiful summer morning
skies are a delicate blue and
lime green shrubs lend a backcloth
for the roses' deep crimson hue.

Floral colours blend together
shining in the sunlight glow
Oh this is the morning of mornings
I recall from 'the long ago'.

A poetic moment comes o'er me
as songbirds greet a new day.
I write my verse on 'Birds of the Air'
before they flutter away.

Then I gaze at the picture before me
and looking toward heaven, I pray
whispering words of thankfulness
for the glory of Nature's way.
