Stretch Marks Poem by LALITHA JOSEPH

Stretch Marks

Through the fissures,
pain oozed;
leaving stains,
crushingspirits.

Writhing in pain,
she pushed.
Words surged,
from the gut, but
was choked:
in the throat.

Scratched tones,
tongue-tied
searched for power.
Pain reeked.

From the depths,
a shrill sound escaped
from the chasm,
to die
in the cacophony.
