Strength Poem by Sarah Riley

Strength

I see you in my memories.
I imagine how the day will go,
Been so scared.
I don't want to hug you.
I won't touch you.
I can't hold your hand.
I prepare myself enough,
Then I walk through the door.
I fall apart inside,
But I won't let it show.
I gotta be strong,
For him.
For you.
For myself.
For everyone.
You think I'm strong,
But I fall apart in your arms.
You insist it will be okay,
That I'm strong, and it's alright.
But baby,
I get my strength from you.
