Strangers Again Poem by Daya Nandan

Strangers Again

We were strangers to begin with,
Believing that true love was a myth,
Our eyes locked and we exchanged words,
Long conversations that made us love birds,

Instant attraction that we could not resist,
We were both on fire during our first kiss,
We were so comfortable, we built our castle of love,
We spent so much time in hopes to be blessed by god above,

But at last our flames grew dim,
And our love song had lost its magical hymn,
I was lost in my work and you lost interest in me,
And we drifted further like sailors lost at sea.

And soon you left me for another man,
Giving him your marriage and hand,
We cut all ties, for you left me in pain,
The memories are tattooed yet we are strangers again.
