Stranger Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Stranger

In a dream I conjure up in my head,
I see you upon the stage,
Lights are flashing, the music is playing.
In this roomful of people,
You are the only one I see,
And want to, want.
A stranger I am to you,
But you’re a special one to me.

A gentle look, you took my eye,
And from then on,
I haven’t lost my stare towards you.

I wish to engage in chit-chat,
But, are we both too shy to convene?
I wish we were not.
So perfect I thought me and my stranger,
Could be, forever and never with you.

My stranger, you make me strong,
With the words you sing in your songs,
I replay them, again and again in my read,
Each line leaving an echo in my trace.
And you don’t even know.
