Still Ageing Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Still Ageing

I am almost Sixty Four Years of Age,
With an Active Brain and Mind,
But my Body is no longer free from pain,
Why to me, is HE so unkind?

I know I’m not the only one,
Whose Ageing is not free from pain,
But I wish that Days would come and go,
When I could work ~ and be useful again.

When it’s time to sleep at night,
My Body Clock keeps me awake,
And in the Morn when my Alarm does sound,
My Body ~ more sleep does take.

When once I started work at Nine,
Now at Noon my body gets started,
And plans for my daily tasks to do,
Are thwarted ~ to Time, I am a Martyr.

Is this what my Future is to be?
A slave to Time and to my Body?
Do these thoughts occur to just Me?
Or are they had by Everybody?
