Statuesque Poem by Rev. Rebecca Guile Hudson

Statuesque

Rating: 5.0

In a space of fury,
Hurt and fear

Her ground of being shocked
And shaken,
Mother, with young one
Astride her waist,
Stands sculpted in the middle
Of unrelenting space and nature

Heads snap back
In rage,

As volcanic terror
And panic
Are the ash and lava
That pours screaming from their pit

The double explosion
Singes settled birds
Who erupt,
Startled feather fanned against
The searing, blasted wind
