Stary Eyes, Moon-Lit Heart Poem by Jessica Caswell

Stary Eyes, Moon-Lit Heart

the stars are my eyes,
glowing softly in the moon-lit sky
the moon is my heart,
never breakes
or skips a sound
when you say you need me
you love me
and after all the lies
you turn around and leave
just me sitting there
without my heart broken
I slowly rise to my feet,
I saw this coming
so my twinkling eyes
turn into a river as I head home
now I know I saw it coming
then it hit me smack in the face
you never loved me
so how could I have let this be?
